Datahooks was founded by Alan Garcia, previously Head of Data at Wuffes (a $120M D2C brand) and creator of ChambasAI (1.5M+ WhatsApp users in Mexico). Our data methodology
The market intelligence on this site is built from a combination of proprietary and third-party sources:
- Market sizing: Mordor Intelligence, Grand View Research, IMARC Group, Euromonitor, TechSci Research, and ANAISA (Mexico supplement industry association). We cross-reference multiple sources for each category and note discrepancies.
- Search demand: DataForSEO historical search volume (Google Mexico), AI search volume (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity), and related keyword discovery. 920+ Spanish-language keywords tracked across 20 categories.
- Marketplace intelligence: Amazon MX product listings via DataForSEO Merchant API. MercadoLibre category metadata via official OAuth API. Product pricing, ratings, and review counts verified on both platforms.
- Regulatory data: COFEPRIS classification databases, SENASICA import requirements, NOM standards (NOM-051, NOM-141), and LIGIE tariff schedules (Fraccion Arancelaria) for 27 product categories.
- Brand verification: Each "absent brand" claim is verified by checking for official brand stores on Amazon MX and MercadoLibre, authorized seller accounts, and brand-owned D2C websites serving Mexico.
Data is refreshed monthly. Market intelligence pages display the last update date. Search demand data is re-pulled from DataForSEO on the 1st of each month.
